This is kind of odd, technological improvements versus the emotional impact of music. I have to admit that the music sounded the best to me in 1959 on my 29 dollar record player with its one 6 inch speaker. MYSTERY TRAIN by Elvis, or LUCILE by Little Richard not only drove my parents NUTS (a definte PLUS), but it induced me to go out and date girls and of course, you all know what DATING leads to..............Yep, that's right, DANCING......And later on, hearing SGT PEPPER vinyl through some big speakers. My noise reduction system at that time were my own ears.
Sorry folks, but I don't own any remastered (at 32 bit) CDs that I play through my Harmon Karden system and JBL speakers that make me want to DANCE anymore. The closest thing that makes me want to dance is owning Ampex, that is if I don't have a nervous breakdown first. And If the stock kills me, my wife will dance on my grave, and wait for the insurance check.
So,these days, it's the prospect of making money that makes me want to dance. And when and if I make the money, will I dance? God, I sure hope I remember how......
So, technological developments aside, I think I've probably lost something, somewhere. But that's alright. It happens to everybody, I guess.......
