I recieved a letter from Oakmark telling me that they are going to stay the course and not go after the high flying stocks. They said eventually they will come down.

My thought in the mean time is that they are losing money and I'm suppose to be satisfied with an $18.00 gain over a year! This is crazy. So I closed my account and moved it to Waterhouse.

At Waterhouse they told me that individuals are leaving the mutual funds at the fastest pace ever. I now know why I recieved the letter from Oakmark.

I wonder since the mutual funds return rate is low, if the fund managers will lower their salaries to, oh, say maybe $100,000 a year.
This will bring their salaries into line with the rate of return on their funds.

Thank You

JK
