OT--Thank you Dale. Well and forcefully said. I share your concern over our will and staying power. I too do not believe in the myth of the SERB warrior. People who cite Vietnam as the appropriate history lessons have it wrong. Isn't it interesting that it took Vietnam to end Pol Pot's murderous rule in Laos? We stood by while millions of people were slaughtered. People should remember that there were many Nazi sympathizers and isolationists pre-Pearl Harbor. I'm convinced that if Rush L. and his ilk were at the microphones in 1936 through 1939, they would have been doing the same rationalizing re. Sudetenland, Austria, Poland etc, they are doing now and touting Germany's rise to power under Hitler as a model for America. I'm copying and sending your post around if you don't mind. We complain about the media, but the slant of the radio talk shows really gives a biased view giving emphasis to the obsessed Clinton-haters, ignoring or ridiculing thoughtful and rational counter-opinions.
