Speaking of Power Based on Knowledge! Look what somebody knowing nuttin' about the wine business can find out in 5 minutes. From the PNL Shipping/Forms category, I clicked on PIERS Reports, entered selection criteria (from Italy, to New York, wine) and got 83 hits listing harmonized codes and manifest commodity desc (ex: 220590 Vermouth & Spirits). Then had the option of selecting from a list of reports: top shipping, top consignees, top countries w/ graph, shipper/consignee/notify detail, consignee/shipper/notify detail, AMS Bill of Lading Detail. So I asked for top shippers, registered as a sample PIERS user, and up pops a listing of 20 shippers with their names, country, metric tones, TEU, #shipments. Now I know nothing regarding the shipment of wine, but I can tell you that GORI, DITTA GIORGIO - AS AGENT ship 400 metric tons via 17 shipments. By far, the leading shipper from Italy to New York in this wine report. I feel more powerful, already. GK
