John, the ISP side of things is a cost most of the time...

WGAT will have to either rent their lines from AT&T et al. or play
through the cable companies.

IATV is AT&T's baby, and TCI belongs to AT&T.
Liberty is also a buddy of Rupert Murdoch.
Finally, AT&T caught @Home in its net.
You see, if you look at the whole picture, IATV is at the corner of
all streets.

How about WGAT?
If they decide to rent their own lines, who will they rent them from?
If they decide to play the game through the cable companies, who will
they go to?

I still believe the market is big enough for WGAT and IATV, but
IATV + AT&T + @Home + TCI + Fox still looks better than WGAT +
whoever.

Finally, yes, you are right. IATV, alone, won't compete against WGAT.
The alliance I described will.
IATV is the cornerstone of this alliance.
