<<As you can tell, I disagree with the intent of your post, but do agree it defines and describes very well with the present situation in the states. It would take alot more than rhetoric to have me see the view you take. I base my opinions and obervations on what is being done, what has been done and what the consequences will be. I include the reports from outside the United States as well prior to making any decision or basis for my arguments.>> Id seriously like to know what exactly you think my view is. Or what is disagreeable about the assessment of the situation in Russia. It is a fact. I got my information from an interview with a former US diplomat to Russia. If that man doesnt know the situation in Russia, I dont know where you could possibly get any better political or economic assessment from the inside. He was paid to know the country, after all, and diplomats are not limited to being mouthpieces. Its funny that all the talking heads and even some very senior government officials involved take a completely different view! To read the papers or hear official government pronouncements, the Russian reforms are going along smoothly, which is the complete opposite of the truth. The fact is, there are no reforms. The money is going to crooks and speculators, and none is going to reform the government or pave the way to a market economy. And the Russian people see this, and will react in the typical Russian way: by regressing to dictatorship. Just because the US is philosophically schitzophrenic does not change the realities of Russia. And Ive made my opinions on our government known to you elsewhere. :)
