Hi Gerald,

I've seen the release but the places I've seen it no longer have a link to the article.

I suspect this fellows contributions helped make ECGOF the value play it is today but he certainly had some help with the Dominion Bridge SNAFU. I've only been following ECGOF since January so I wasn't around the Yahoo thread when all this was taking place. From what I understand most of his statements were patently false and were intended to enhance his short position.

Generally a person can say pretty much whatever they like as long as it's based on facts or stated as an opinion. Also, public figures such as politicians and heads of publicly held companies are expected to tolerate more abuse than a private citizen. You could get away with saying, "Bill Gates is a dork.", but if you claimed to have personal knowledge of his being arrested in Seattle on charges of barnyard sodomy you would put yourself at risk of being sued.

Since American Eco was able to prove their case in court, I have to assume the complaint was valid.

Regards,

Don
