Antoine, A very good question. Though it depends on the practitioner, the official P&F party line is "FA to determine 'what', P&F to determine 'when'". The basic concept though is that P&F (as well as other TA methods), is factoring in the FA in the stock movement. In other words, the "smart money" would already know that CPQ was in trouble and would be unwinding positions. Therefore the specific news is not necessarily important. CPQ has given at least 9 P&F sell signals since Feb 1. The second and third signals would have been very convincing. JXM
