I was reading on Waldo's Web Site today that Bid.com last week traded 17.5 million shares at an average cost of $27.52/share. Bid.com's US dollar value was almost equal to UBID, ONSALE and EGGS combined. What's amazing about UBID, ONSALE and EGGS was their tremendous start once they joined the Nasdaq. UBID's low the first week on the Nasdaq was US$30.00/share but on day one they jumped to US$60.00/share. Two or three weeks later they were up over 500% from their $30.00 low to a high US$190.00/share (Cdn$287.00/sh). EGGS and ONSALE were both similar in that 2 or 3 weeks on the Nasdaq they were both up over 500% from their introductory price on the Nasdaq. What is it about the big jump 2 to 3 weeks into the Nasdaq? I'm sure most were tempted to sell out UBID when it hit US$60.00/share on day 1, and then must have shook their heads 2 or 3 weeks later.!!
