DD, When I was a lowly sales engineer years ago, I had a $1200 per month car allowance -- it included car payments, insurance, maintenance, repairs, gasoline, etc., Which means I could not submit car expenses to the company -- I was given an allowance and had to buy and operate a car within that budget.

So, while $2500 per month may sound excessive ($30,000 a year), if Rob has a luxury car, he probably doesn't have much change from the allowance.
