I imagine that the "insiders" in Compaq now understand the "stupidity"
of purchasing DEC as well as losses due to AMD CPU's. I have received
"double, double secret E-mail" from a VP in Compaq that when AMD had
delivery problems (due to 400mhz and 450mhz process problems), Compaq
had to go to the spot market for Intel CPU's. These had to be purchased
for far more than Compaq's normal "contract" price.
