I just pulled a cookie crumb out of my MOUTH, that was in my coffee, and honest to Sartre, it WAS A FLY.

There's a first time for everything.

Should I swallow some bleach?

Pray?

You don't stub your toe on meaning like on a rock JF. It isn't something you can hold in your hand and pass around a room. Meaning is always going to be a personal and to some extent untranslatable experience.

Oh, I'm not stubbing my toe. I'd just say that this definition equates "meaning" with "what I like", or "preferences", or some similar subjective definition. And so we have Ayn Rand and Mother Teresa easily sharing "meaning". What we can learn from this I'm not sure, other than maybe that with contradictory systems neither can be said to be better.
