Jim I partially agree with you. I think that a portion of their PC business can be salvaged but only if they jettison their current channel model. They cannot continue to use the VARs as off-balance sheet warehouses. What they desperately need to do is to move to a demand-driven model.

yes I agree... gracefully exit the unprofitable businesses.... turn those entities into business unit profit centers, totally separate from the rest of the org. Give the customer base plenty of warning but if these bu's can't become profitable in some set time period - they are gone.
