Rude, it was food for thot. Jobs did a LOT more for Apple than his "recent work." Think about it.....Apple's his BABY!!!!! I was making a similar comparison to Canion, in that his emotional stake in Compaq could be considered huge incentive should he be interested in the job. Apple's not on the ropes. Compaq has MUCH more going for it and is not a one trick pony like DELL (for example, and a much better comparison). Ten years older than Jobs? So what? LOL That's NOTHING!

Just my thoughts.

rudedog, Jobs is a motivator though. When he came on board at Apple he asked for the names of the 50 top engineers in the company. They couldn't come up with 50 so they gave him 100 names. Jobs then started working with those guys personally on the product. He then aggressively started firing everybody else at Apple (that wasn't on this list of 100 top engr's). I don't care for Jobs as a person myself but you have to give him points for stamina/vision etc.

Edit : I see now there are a million posts to you tonight. You are a sweetie for talking to everybody and not getting upset yourself. Your insight is very valuable here.
