respect your knowledge of the industry...would like your comments on the following related thought.......

most analysts see pc now as a "commodity"....if this was true, than there would be no channel or inventory problems for the indirect sales model....stock the shelves side by side with the competition and sell price only, open one box same as opening any box, all same-same....but are there not too many variations and configurations to deem a pc a "commodity"...and can a "commodity" be "customized"....pricing and sheer sales volume alone does not a commodity make...if you applied the same logic all autos would be considered commodity...believe dell and gtw understand this.....

would appreciate your comments, for i think the misperception of a class of manufactured goods, can also skew incorrectly the direction of the market sector...tia, ed amo
