Mr.R - ahh, yes. The beetles scurry to the stinkiest pile. The elephants are gone, leaving only their aromatic mounds scattered about as mute reeking reminders of their prodigious feeding habits. The beetles now are back happily rooting through the freshest plops.

You know the great affection I have for the Neo and yes - I held her as she jumped for the sky. Then, I wept quietly and held her close as she collapsed and died, cradled in my arms.

I buried her gently in a sunny part of the garden. Her dead eyes stared at me blankly as I pushed the cold wet earth over her motionless form.

She rests now near the pots of dormant roses where I've watered her shallow grave many times with my tears. I was lost this winter in a void of mourning as the driving rain rinsed the shards of ice from my veins.

Life goes on and now it is spring and fresh life is pushing through the warming earth. There is promise in the air and the sweet anticipation of a promise unfulfilled.

I again grasp hopefully at that promise as she flirts shamelessly with her curves and taunts me with her breathless smile.
