... "This is not a one-week wonder," declared Gary Greenberg, who runs the international investments for Van Eck Global, including Van Eck Asia Dynasty, the top Asia mutual fund with a 20.3% gain this year. "We are at the beginning of a bull market in Asia, and there are plenty of reasonably valued companies." ...

Gary, DELL makes great products. But you'll need to stick with Toshiba or IBM if you don't want a touchpad. Also, if battery life is important, make sure you stick to Lithium Ion, and stay away from the K6-2. The K6-2 is not a mobile designed processor. Both mobile Celeron and mobile PII run at lower than normal voltage, and hence conserve battery life. Also, mobile PII includes an on-chip 256K L2 cache, if performance is important. Also, no need to overpay for a 14.1" panel. The 13.3" will run XGA (1024x768) and weigh less.

I really like those new Toshiba Satellite 40x0 CDT series. Some of those low-end consumer IBM i series notebooks used to use nickel metal batteries. If you can, stick to LiIon.

Good luck.

Gary
