LAS VEGAS, (National Association of Broadcasters conference Booth 6228), April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- In partnership with World Vision, TV onthe WEB, a strategic partner of Ampex Corporation (Amex: AXC), today announced a critical channel on its growing network of offerings: the Children's Relief Channel.

In a press conference from the floor of the National Association of Broadcasters Convention to be webcast live at 1 p.m. PT (10 a.m. ET) at www.tvontheweb.com, executives from TV on the WEB and World Vision, the channel's underwriters, will address the details.

World Vision is the largest, privately funded Christian relief and development organization in the world, serving more than 60 million people a year in nearly 100 countries. It will be dedicated as a multimedia and video- based channel to elevate awareness of world hunger, international development, and the living conditions of the poor. The primary goal of the Children's Relief Channel will be to increase sponsorships of children through World Vision's existing sponsorship programs.

Dorene Young, Vice President of Communications for World Vision, will join TV onthe WEB spokespersons for the press conference from NAB in Las Vegas. She will discuss the work of World Vision in the Balkans, Sudan, and the agency's response to Hurricane Mitch in Central America as the humanitarian organization. In addition, the Webcast will feature footage of the relief efforts in Albania, as well as Sudan, Honduras and other countries. The LIVE webcast will also feature interactive chat for the outside world to share their thoughts and ask questions.

Many of World Vision's programs are funded through child sponsorship, in which people invest $22 a month to raise the quality of care and standard of living for a child and his or her community in the developing world. More than 1.5 million children worldwide currently are sponsored through World Vision. Sponsorships will be promoted utilizing existing World Vision video footage, news, music, concert coverage, corporate-sponsored LIVE and on-demand webcasting and interactive fundraising, which will take advantage of the Chat rooms and message boards on the channel.

TV onthe WEB, the first interactive community-based television network on the Web, announced in January of this year that it had formed a strategic partnership with Ampex Corporation ampex.com , and received an investment to finance the continued development and expansion of its Network and LIVE webcasting capability.
