I remember an old, old, movie in which the British were marching on American troops near New Orleans, in the war of 1812, I believe.

The Scots played bagpipes as they approached, and one of the defenders (they were pirates, if memory serves, but good pirates remarked to another:

"sounds like somebody's killing a pig"

Good line, I thought. Perhaps it had to be seen.

Check out this website. I love this band. The music is more than just bagpipes, and is a bit loud. They have some really good music out on disk for your listening pleasure.
