See, it's starting to happen sooner than expected. Part of the little known y2k 8 minute phenomenon. I would not worry about losing information from the hard drive... I would be concerned about the time lost from the human life span.

Sorry, but it's Monday morning.

Sounds like your system battery needs to be replaced. They don't cost much and it's easy to do. You can buy them at CompUSA, Radio Shack, etc. The Reference and Troubleshooting Guide will tell you how to do it. After replacement about the only thing you'll have to do is reset the clock. Good luck.

Jazz.. I don't mean to point out the obvious but I have found that when I have the calendar open my Dimension loses time. I don't know if it is because I inadvertently change the time or when my cursor is in the time slot it doesn't tick or what. Before you do anything drastic close the calendar and watch the time for a few days and see if you have the same problem.

If not already posted: It's most likely the little battery for the bios and clock. Not a hard drive issue as I see it. the battery is a little "watch type".
