Les,

I find it kind of strange that people thought that
Milosevic would knuckle under so easily. First, he
got several things from the Dayton agreement. He
got nothing from Rambouillet. Second, if we look
at the tremendous beating that Iraq took during the
Gulf War, look how they are still hanging tough. They
have kicked out the arms inspectors. They have been
getting bombed for almost a decade. They were hit
by the heaviest armada ever assembled in history. At
this point, I think the Iraqis deserve some kind of
award for actually surviving Desert Storm and maintaining
their independence. Why should Milosevic be concerned?
If anything, he is in a much better position to wage
a war. Besides, the coalition is already crumbling.
It appears that Hungary has stated that no ground war
will come from them or their territory. So much for
the much vaunted drive on Belgrade...not that I ever
though Clinton/NATO had the mind to do it.
