The reaction to the auction site purchase seems to be muted, which strikes me as a good sign. I would expect the initial reaction to be negative since it means they'll be competing head-on with ebay and Amazon -- something likely to scare off many. But the purchase seems to be a good fit with HyperMart because it gives them a good way to expand (and maybe even unify) the shopping experience there. I think the more reflective reaction to the purchase will be positive, but it may take a while.
