Much more likely, IMHO, despite the usual kneejerk "shorters" cry, is simply that someone owning a large amount of stock decided that $1.50 would be a good place to sell. Not all of the stock bought at that price came from that seller (or sellerS) because other MMs can match the best offer even if they're quoting it higher.
