Excellent strategy by management which is why I established a position. The various sites are basically commoditized. Borders will get its share of internet business and won't have to do a lot of advertising because it will piggy back off Amazon's huge internet budget. Anyone sophisticated enough to buy internet knows the various sites for each product. Furthermore, the recent craze of sites comparing vendors will push this trend further.

Borders.com will probably make money way before Amazon.com. If it doesn't, the company has stated that it won't be pouring money into it.

So it's a win - win.

The stores will survive and keep making money.
