The funny thing is, Intel does not really know how to handle Xeon either ;-) One of the slowest ramp for Intel, or?

Mary,

There are different dynamics, different applications,
different margins, and different pricing issues and that he should keep his mouth
shut until he bones up in this area.

Of course you are right, but, sometimes I think people like Kernen's jobs are just to ask the questions that a lot of other (uninformed) people are asking. How many times have we seen the statement 'AMD has taken the lead in microprocessor sales from Intel'? Well, it was retail only, for a month or two, and would not include any of Dell, or very much of Gateway or Micron or several others, no Xeon, etc., etc. Nevertheless, there are still those with half a clue that think AMD is doing it to Intel. Osha is definitely not one of them. You've seen the bull vs. bear matches on the business shows? How about Osha vs. Niles?

Tony

Mary, Re: The insinuation, of course, that he knew about PCs and that no one needed faster and more powerful microprocessors - even 2 or 3 years down the road

From his perspective, that is quite true. I bet the only time
he would use a PC is looking at the scrolling news alert and
price tickets which can be handled by a 386.
