LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--At NAB 1999, NDS, the world leader in digital broadcasting solutions, will launch its new E5820 ATSC Compact (2U) encoder.
The E5820 supports both High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) operation.
The E5820 Compact encoder, meets the present and future needs of the ATSC broadcaster by:
-- supporting the most prevalent SD and HD formats - 480i30, 480p60,
720p60 and 1080I
-- working in a stand alone configuration or as part of an
integrated system
-- providing quick and easy set up with user friendly control menus
-- allowing room for expansion and extra functionality with
expansion modules
-- including NDS' patented noise reduction, which increases picture
quality and reduces bit-rate overhead
-- supporting closed captioning via an RS-232 interface o providing
interoperability through proven 480p60 interfacing with other key
industry equipment suppliers at NAB '99
