No, no, no!!! How many times to I have to repeat myself! The margins for Amazon and other on-line retailers will be much lower than traditional retailers. Putting it simply: Take traditional retail margin pressure and magnify it by the "power of the Internet".

Amazon is a distributor of commodities. The Internet is the greatest enabler of comparison shopping the world has ever seen - by far. Amazon's brand name is worth something - maybe 1% in net profit. They may see net profit of 3% during the best of times with 0.5%-1.5% being the norm.
