Scumbria,

Re: "I believe that Intel's performance has been spectacular."

Yes Scumbria ... I believe that Intel's earnings also reflect this fact.
AMD's, on the other hand, demonstrate the ability to "grasp defeat" from
the "jaws of victory". <ggg> Process/Design problems with their 400mhz
and 450mhz CPU's, "jacking up" the supply voltage to try an stay competitive,
making "un-truthful" statements regarding their "manufacturing problems" and thus "inviting" lawsuits ... Yes, AMD is "blessed with geniuses". <ggg>

Make It So,

<They have not introduced a new core in 4 years, and their clock speed has increased a phenomenal 20% in the last 12 months. It will be at least 12 months before they do have a new core, and they are targeting another (mind-boggling) 20% MHz improvement over the next 12 months.>

I hate to nitpick here, but don't you mean 25%? Intel went from 400 to 500 MHz, not 400 to 480, you know.

And in about a month, 550 MHz will also be here (if it isn't out already). So in 13 months, Intel will have increased the clock speed by 37.5%. Think of what Intel could achieve if they also hiked up the voltage by two-tenths!
