I've sent a note to someone in the stepper business about whether or not the stepper co. will buy the light source and then sell the system, or vice versa. I'll let you know if I get an answer from them.

I believe it is highly unlikely that JMAR will market directly to semiconductor manufacturers. The stepper manufacturers will continue to be the first line of supply and support, and this is the only way it makes sense. If PXS works as it should, then it becomes a "light bulb." All the other critical elements of stepper design, operation and maintenance remain with the stepper manufacturer. These are amazingly complex and expensive machines, even with just a UV arc lamp used for the source. I doubt that the PXS will be even 25% of the total cost of a XRL stepper system. But, even if it turns out to be 50% or 70%, JMAR could no more take responsibility for the integrated package than they could fly to the moon on the Amtrak Coaster.
