Slider-My 2c is that we may dip to 72ish to end w4 by Tues close and then go to say 78-79 to end 5 on Wed/Fri....That would be 5 waves up from the recent 60.5 low, so a 50% retrace of that would then mean back to say 69 to regroup...still holding all at the moment

Hanifen Imhoff upgrades MRL to "buy" and RIG and FLC to "accumulate" all from a "hold."

FWIW, my 10 minute MACD gave a sell signal on the $OSX (77.40) at about 12:40 pm EDT. It looks like it may have bottomed at about 74.70 and the fast MACD looks to be about to turn up (as is the RSI). Let's see how the last hour goes!

<<time to fire up those Rig Party plans again !>>

Aggghhhhhh!! The kiss of death.

<< any intra-day read on technical reversal signs here today guys ?>>

Ideally, I'd look for a bullish pennant to form in this range for the next 2 or 3 days -- perhaps between 72/73 and 76 or so. The macd on the 60 minute chart is flattening and should kiss the signal line or cross-over tomorrow. Since there are no significant MACD divergences on the 60 minute or daily charts, I'm with Gary in thinking there will be at least one more strong move up before a more serious correction.
It's probably more important, though, to keep an eye on the individual stock charts. It sounds like most of the posters have significant positions in OS, but outside the OSX.

I hope I'm right, but one never knows.

Slider, On one thing, you and heartily agree. At 18 bucks a barrel, a whole lot of money will get shaken loose from banks, private investors, etc. and really big money will be made in the laggards as they refi. To that end I humbly beseech the noble and illustrious SlideurSurLeNoire to post his 5 top OS laggard picks, and his 5 best E&P laggard picks. I don't mean the ones you consider optionish, but the ones that you consider viable ongoing concerns with a new financial structure. TIA

Slider
I understand you're trading philosophy but if the trend is up long term doesn't it amount to churning the same securities? Why not hold until the technicals say downturn?TIA
