Yeah, the hydrogen fuel cell is almost a reality. However, anyone that thinks we'll all be driving hydrogen-fueled cars in two years is wildly optimistic. The hydrogen infracstructure will take years to put into place to a point where people are comfortable relying on it.

The key development, IMO, is low-cost crackers for gasoline or methanol. These will enable cars to fill up with gasoline and burn the freed hydrogen in fuel cells.
