j.o. I was not saying the TYX rates are headed lower, only that in a panic flight to safety, the rates can de-couple and fall with the Indices as money flees to safety.

Good evidence of this occurring took place on Black Monday Oct 87. The TYX rates opened at the highs and closed at the lows for the day. You can see this on my weekly Dow Industrials/30 Year T-Bond (Wide View) Chart on the MDA Web Site.

>>>> I have been out of long-term positions for some time as well. I just wanted to emphasize that it's OK for anyone to not catch a move with all guns blazing - sometimes one should just wait for the market to behave in a manner that one can understand before jumping in with both feet. I do indeed think it's funny that some criticism was voiced on this thread last week for those who are not content to always count themselves member of the bull's camp. <<<<

I do recall how the media and analysts were saying how many did not participate in the recent upswing in light of their bearishness, and
some of those analysts did it with sarcasim, critizing the bears. OK
the bears missed out on that runup, but the BULLs also missed out of
the recent 300 point decline in the NAZ which is equivalent to 1300
DOW points. One must keep in mind that getting out early with profits is not losing money, just losing the potential to make money.
However, what about those who bought stocks when the NAZ was at the recent peak to trade for the short-term.
