The Intel® WebOutfitterSM service delivers cutting-edge content, tools and tutorials that are designed to enhance the Internet experience for consumers of Pentium III processor-based computers. Intel plans to evolve this new service to include next-generation content, technologies and services in an effort to provide significant value to users of high-performance Intel based PCs. 'Our goal is straightforward: we want to make your high performance computing experience as rich and rewarding as possible on the Web, right out of the box,' said Angelo Lo Certo, Internet marketing programs manager, Intel Asia Pacific. 'The Intel WebOutfitterSM service was created to suit the needs and interests of the Pentium III processor-based PC community.' Members of the Intel WebOutfitterSM Service will be equipped with specially tuned plug-ins, have access to expert guidance on topics that interest them and directed to websites relevant to the featured theme. The service is broken down into three easy to use sections: 'Tech Treks', 'Equip Your PC' and 'Site Seeing'. Working with the Australian Internet community Intel Australia is working with the local Internet community by providing the latest tools and expertise for web development and site optimisation. The first Australian websites to be optimised and affiliated with the Intel WebOutfitterSM service are: Brilliant Digital Entertainment - Delve into the exciting world of Multipath movies and adventures on the web with titles including Xena: Warrior Princess. 'With the Pentium III processor, we have made clearly visible improvements in the quality and the realism of our 3-D graphics,' said Kevin Bermeister, president of Brilliant Digital. EquityCafe, produced by Digital Media Productions - award-winning online investment community. Now optimised for faster and easier searching on share investment advice, personal portfolio management as well as databases of company and market information. 'We are providing a cross roads for those who are financially literate and those who are computer literate,' said Paul McCarthy, CEO of Digital Media. CitySearch Australia - online city guide for residents and tourists. CitySearch has created a 3D online tour of Sydney Harbour using full-screen IPIX images which has been specifically optimised for the power of the Pentium® III processor. With a local focus, CitySearch gives a virtual tour and provides up-to-date details on movies, restaurants, theatre, film, live music, clubbing, shopping and sports events. About the Intel WebOutfitterSM service The Intel WebOutfitterSM service is organised around 'Tech Treks,' a guided thematic experience designed to expand the universe of what consumers can do with Pentium III processor PC's on the Internet today. Tech Treks, which Intel plans to change approximately every sixty days, will focus on specific technology topics and combine editorial material with product trials and demos to help users learn about and explore new Internet capabilities. In the 'Equip Your PC' section of the Intel WebOutfitterSM service, members can download plug-ins tuned for the Pentium III processor, or can choose to receive the same plug-ins via mail on the Intel WebOutfitterSM Tool Kit CD. Both the site and CD have all the plug-ins required to take advantage of thematic site features and on participating sites. One of the highlights of the CD is an easy one-step process that installs all fifteen plug-ins with the click of a mouse, eliminating the need for a prolonged download process. Site members interested in learning more about plug-ins can visit the ZDNet Plug-in Guide featured in this section. * Legal Information, © 1999 Intel Corporation
