What if my grandmother had 4 wheels? Would she be a wagon?

How can a fantasy hypothetical situation change my perception of the cold hard truth that Amazon will likely never make a profit from ongoing business operations?

John, I have posted numerous stuff on this in the past. There are several studies that have been done by IBM Research Institute, Aurthur Anderson, GA TEch Grad dept. and others that conclude that competition on the Internet will inevitably become severe. My own experience and study came to this conclusion before I saw these studies. I have been very concerned about this because I have developed my own inet business plans and am throwing my own livelihood into this area. I'm not going to take the time to re-hash all the stuff I've posted in the past. Let's leave it that I believe margins will be very narrow - more so than for traditional retail. You can disagree with me. This doesn't mean that Internet stocks won't stay valued on the fantastic earnings projections of the ANALS. And it won't mean that you won't make money investing in them. It will be at least a couple of years before anyone knows if I or the rose colored glasses crowd are right or wrong.
