mm- I think waht has happened is this. The top guys at the big ten funds know eachother and their hot analysts and strategy guys. They talk to eachother not in any conspiratorial way but just becuase they know eachother as professional colleagues and friends. The techs had not very much upside and I suppose one of the big ten decided to lighten up and the others quickly followed but all this before Mr average investor got wind of it. These guys have quarterly performances to keep up and now they will be able to buy back in to the Naz big five when the prices have dropped 30% - 40% and then they will be able to show yet anotehr good Quarter. I don't think the average 401k investor sells in time to win in these crashes. Market timing is just too difficult. How many here actually got out of the Q at $175, not many I bet and in fact who even wanted to with all the fantastic news we had last week and the week before. I did post here last week that the mood looked like it had gone and it now transpires that sadly I was right. Its recognizeable, a daily small drop in the Nazz of 1% - 1.5% and then a killer day. Tomorrow will probably be one of those dead cat bounce days but you just can't tell when its bottomed. Big day tomorrow for earnings. MSFT might change sentiment but it doesn't really seem very likely does it? Keep thinking of a year or two from now....Q at $...???? Best regards, L
