taxman, That hurts. It is even painfull to just stock holders--I don't know how the option holders fared today. I did not even bother to check the few contracts i had bought of the May 80s. I have been loading up on shares that I thought were a good price--i guess not. It looked like the internet and related stocks got nailed today as well. Maybe the internet mania is coming to an end and is dragging high PE stocks down along with. I finally decided on those Leaps 2001 at the close of the market buying Jan 2001 ---80s and 90s for my retirement account. Just could not go further out of the money. I think I got a good price and a long wait. Had to unload some shares in trading account at 82 for a loss---need some protection of capital.
