No, I don't think so. Shorts will most likely sit on the sideline and wonder when to cover instead of chasing it down to increase their short positions. Guys margined up to their eyeballs will be sold out, I'm sure it happened today as a matter of fact, and fear-filled gamblers will also part with their holdings. It might provide a great opportunity for new people to come in and for others to average down. Yes, I agree that a fast upswing would be the work of shorts covering their positions. We will see, tomorrow could be an interesting day indeed!
