Hi everyone:Greenkeeper and others... thanks for agreeing with my last post... here is more of my 2 cents... A rainy day we have today... Despite the rain, Ebay still stood at 154.125 per share with a total outstanding shares of 120.8 million (http://biz.yahoo.com/p/e/ebay.html). Total float is still only 10.5 million shares. Now, if you look at Ebay price before the 3-to-1 split, the price would have been $462.37 per shares based on total outstanding shares of 40.26 million (120.8 divided by 3). At around $462.37 per share since its IPO in October of 1998, I don't think today correction even put a dent in the internet 'bubble' as many will call it. It is still a LONG WAY to go back down to "traditional value". My take is that it won't go there. Price for Internet stocks, the famous and big ones, are so high (even though they don't make that much money now) because, IMHO, they have established an "Internet Presence" . How do you establish "Internet Presence"? Actually, there is nothing to it (yeah, right! ), just make sure every other internet user log onto your site everyday. Traffic to your site establishes your presence. The heavier the traffic, the better is your presence. And the more users pass money through your website, the more prestige is your "presence". VERT, another b2b site that some say is not as focus as PNLK's, has a $80.00 price tag with outstanding shares of 16.8 million after today heavy downpour (http://biz.yahoo.com/p/v/vert.html). HOWEVER, what VERT has that PNLK doesn't have YET is revenue number. Sure, VERT still shows a loss but you can't dispute the revenue number. The revenue number proves that VERT has established an "Internet Presence". So, no matter how you dice it, cut it, twist it, VERT is still one up against PNLK. It is UNTIL PNLK proves to the world that it can generate revenue ; then the sky is the limit. Any news of future alliances may only increase the probability of generating revenue; but it is still not revenue. So, the ridiculous high price will have to wait.At this moment, we already know the PNLK girl is pretty; but we still have to wait for the guys to start proposing to her. My bet is that a LOT OF GUYS will propose... what do you think? Caveat: don't forget that "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholders. " Why is it that the ridiculous high price can withstand the test of time for so many years? Will today correction continue for the next few weeks until it comes back down to earth? IMHO, I doubt it. As I mentioned in my last post, the Internet Infrastructure is still in its infancy. And when the full power of the Internet is realized in the future, some of the traditional infrastructure will begin to crumble apart. This is when the Internet Brand Name shines! IMHO, the high prices of today Internet's highflyers are going through the process of discounting the future HUGE revenues once the full power of the Internet Infrastructure is in place! You will have super clear video phone, voice recognition command on almost everything you use... your High Definition TV is actually your computer and internet access combined... you can fill in the blank with your imagination... So, if you look that far into the future (perhaps, not so far into the future), any Internet stock that has a website with an "Internet Presence" is going to have a ridiculous stock price that is trying to discount our Internet Future . A shift of paradigm that has such magnitude that not everyone is fully aware of yet. Why aren't others aware of it yet? I think it is because we are living in it and, therefore, take it for granted. How many times have your friends who haven't seen your children for awhile remarked about the incredible physical height your kids have achieved? While you don't see that much of a change at all?Who were aware of the magnitude of the paradigm shift from our PC (personal computer) revolution? Sure, some of us were so absorbed in playing with the gadget that we forgot to buy MSFT when it IPOs back in 1982. Or Intel...or Compaq... or Dell... or... Well, I missed the PC hardware and software trains and I am not going to miss the Internet trains this time around. What about you? Again, all of the above is my humble opinion only. Remember everyone, To Each His Own And Prosperity to ALL!
