Here's an interesting site for tracking institutional activity:

thomsoninvest.net

Today, according to the charts generated here, institutions seemed to be accumulating in the Internet sectors (Internet Service Providers, Internet Information Providers, Internet Software and Services). Individual issues that appear to have been under accumulation, on balance, include AOL, YHOO, AMZN, RNWK, BKS, and BVSN (among the few that I have checked thus far).

I re-established some modest Net positions late today, but figure we probably are another round of panic selling away from a true bottom. I think another burst of intensive selling would bring some bargain hunters out of the woodwork, and this should induce a bit of short covering. I expect that would at least stabilize the sector, and perhaps even begin to drive it north again.

Good luck and good trading to all--.

Agree... the dry powder is ready... I'll be playing the market fast and loose until this softness is out of the way. Took another beating today of course.
