Well, he likely was for the period, but certainly one of the best for all times. One has to work with what one has; the equipment, skill, and opportunity: he ranks with the best. My foolish point with raising this issue is it wasn't a back of the neck hair deal (although that probably figured in) that made him so good. When you shoot a thousand yards, air density matters a bunch, much less a cross wind. What really surprises me is I live in a supposed "gun free zone", yet there are 3 copies of Marine Sniper in the library. -g-
