Oh yeah, Europe is supposed to be having a recovery. That brings up the point that there are a lot of companies, making "chips", which have plants in Europe too. In addition there is Siemmens, Temic, Phillips and others who base out of Europe. I hear very little about them.

I know Siemmens sold a brand new Fab in Scotland, I think, last year. If this price it true, than MU will not be making money on the Italian Fab; which they are counting on.

I do know that National is shutting down its European ventures and moving that technology to Austin. But it is old and some still on 4" wafers, >1 micron. But have heard very little about Moto's Scotland operation, other than yields suck – but it is Moto after all – HA!
