It's just not easy for small investor to strike it big, because they always think "What if my 20K becomes 1K tomorrow?!", so they sell when their anxiety rises to an unbearable level. They missed the boat. Psychology is the worst wealth killer.

This is probably true more often than it should be. The Motley Fool philosophy gives one the right course -- that is, to do what's necessary to understand why you're invested, and then to keep an eye on the company while maintaining appropriate conviction for a reasonable time frame (ideally years, but more like many months than days).
