XO, though I like his sentiments, he sure got a lot of facts wrong. $38 and change was not close to Dell's low for the year. And they haven't reported disappointing earnings. Yet! Revenues, yes, but so far they have used their trick accounting to keep earnings faked.

I saw a piece in the Houston Chronicle this morning where they talked about Pfeiffer. They said, "Pfeiffer's contention that Compaq's poor performance was industry wide was made in the face of evidence to the contrary." What evidence to the contrary? IBM losing a billion bucks on PCs last year? Hewlett showing no growth in pc revenues despite gaining major market share? MUEI having a lousy quarter? Packard-Bell running losses? Dell and Gateway missing their revenue estimates by a mile? True, E-Machines is growing. <g>
