Darn it all, I always seem to buy my toothpaste just before a good sale.

Anyway, I just looked at the DEF-14A proxy that the co. filed today.

A couple of things of interest:

First, the co. is asking shareholder approval to exceed the 20% limit of shares outstanding associated with the toxic convertible they did. That of course is good news for shorters.

Second, re. the co.'s President and COO who 'retired' 1/31/99. His options all expired when he 'was terminated' according to the filing. Doesn't sound very friendly, does it. Either he was fired, or he didn't think his options were worth very much when he decided to leave. His replacement, who was named in a news release in February, strangely isn't named as one of the executives in this latest proxy.

I just tried the new Enamelon Calcium Whitening paste tonight. ( I bought it using my coupon for a free tube). The claims written on the side of the tube seem to be much more straight-forward than before: "The Liquid Calcium Formula absorbs into the tooth structure to strengthen enamel and to help prevent tooth decay"

The taste is rather bland compared to the regular formula, plus the look appears to be more like a gel than a paste. There is also a stronger abrasiveness to it than the original. I like it. --Too bad the company didn't launch this formula a year ago.
