Absolutely, which is why there is no basis for blaming Starr for his thoroughness. The blame rests squarely upon the Democrats, most notable of which is Bill Clinton. Should one pass a law granting an investigator great flexibility in searching for the truth about a certain matter, one should expect the investigator to operate to the fullest extent of that law to find the truth. After all, this is precisely what one has asked the investigator to do. Should after earnestly searching for truth the investigator finds a truth one finds not especially pleasing, or that one deems unworthy of one's time, one will yet have no basis for excoriating him. The law does not mandate he be concerned with anticipating the best use of one's time. It mandates he earnestly search for and report upon the truth. Starr searched for and revealed a remarkable amount of truth concerning Bill Clinton and his cronies, and in the process many people have incurred the penalty of law for their misdeeds. This was Starr's assignment and he has dispatched it courageously, working diligently amidst a morally deviant administration and American public. Both these corrupt bodies have lied about Starr and indecently encouraged him to curb his search for the truth. He did not listen to either of them, but instead showed them the unalloyed rubbish that is Bill Clinton, revealing to them, so that even Checkers can understand it, why Clinton is unfit for the presidency. But Americans, being what they are, have continued to embrace rubbish as yet worthy of leading them; and now they must suffer the inevitable consequences of their very unfortunate behaviour. They do not have the Independent Counsel to blame. He merely did his job with admirable diligence. Were I to hire an investigator I would settle for no less of an effort. There is but one hero amidst this scandal, and his name is Kenneth Starr.
