Supercom and 3Com Team to Deliver Net-Ready PCs

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--
Supercom, Inc. and 3Com Corporation (Nasdaq:COMS)
today announced Supercom's participation in the 3Com
Connected(TM) program, a channel development and marketing
program that teams 3Com(TM) with leading PC manufacturers to
pre-install 3Com connectivity products and label their systems with
the 3Com Connected logo.

The 3Com Connected logo symbolizes easy and instant access to
people and information around the world.

As a result of the relationship, Supercom dealers can purchase
Supercom Built-to-Order systems with pre-installed 3Com network
interface cards or modems and the appropriate software drivers at no
additional charge for installation and setup. In addition, Supercom
labels the systems with the 3Com Connected logo to ensure its
dealers and their end customers that the system is ready to connect
to the Internet or corporate network, right out of the box.

According to Wendy Walleigh, Director of the 3Com Connected
brand and partner program, "We've always been impressed by
Supercom's Build-to-Order (BTO) expertise. In working together as
a 3Com Connected participant, Supercom is able to provide a real
advantage for its dealers.

"By taking away the hassles of connectivity installation, and not
charging a premium for this service, Supercom's dealers can now
spend time on projects that contribute more to their profits and are a
greater value-add for their customers."

Derek Rasmussen, Supercom's Director of Product Management,
adds, "Our core business has always been systems and
build-to-order. We have to continually innovate and train in order to
keep pace with the technology. 3Com has recently introduced
important system management capabilities, such as Remote Wake
Up, which allow IS administrators to power up PCs from any
management console.

"In order to implement these features, tight integration between the
NIC and system BIOS is needed, and this is not always efficient for
dealers to handle. We've built the 3Com NIC installation into our
ISO 9000 procedures, so that the job is done right, first time and
every time."

Rasmussen continues, "Net-ready PCs aren't just for the corporate
market though. We're seeing a lot of activity in the retail market
with our 3Com Connected systems designed for Internet access,
using either a pre-installed 3Com 56K(a) modem, or NIC for those
homes that use cable modems."
