Unique's Q'ly also stated that it had delivered 168 electric propulsion systems to KYMCO for field test and evaluation. KYMCO has announced plans to begin offering electric scooters for public sale during calendar 1999. The company is developing DC to DC converter and high frequency battery chargers. These products are for the low voltage small battery powered vehicles. The company is also developing electrically powered components including an air conditioning compressor drive motor for a tier 1 supplier to automotive OEM. These products are directed to the emerging hybrid-electric vehicle market but have potential in the conventional gas powered market.
