As a former shareholder of Compaq, I was shocked to learn about the accounting irregularities. Thank goodness I sold my shares in January, after reading about them on the Burke thread. ERG is a very good man, and if he takes joy in seeing the CFO and CEO of Compaq ousted, I would think it is because it bodes well for the company. Perhaps these men were rascals who deserve to be ousted.

Also, some people on Burke thread, and others, buy puts and take understandable joy in making money on these investments. It is my understanding that they buy them from shareholders who stand to make a profit if the stock prices go up. I don't see why one group's joy in making a profit at the expense of another is better that the other's joy. It cuts both ways, IMHO.

Just to clarify your position, a CEO and CFO who are ousted for flagrantly lying to their shareholders over a period of years are to be accorded our respect?
