Hey, JMD. OTOTOT: I guess one of my biggest emotional goofs was not investing in MSFT because I think they have a sh*tty product! I actually owned some shares in 1989!!! But, I went on a sea kayak trip to Baja Ca that my wife at the time didn't want me to go on and when on came back she had sold all stocks in our joint account! Well, that MSFT was their with some INTC warrants and also some others like Citicorp. She sold these right at the market low of the Persian Gulf war! And I had tried to position everything for successful resolution of the war and a rebounding market! After a messy Divorce, It wasn't until 1994 that I started investing again in a meaningful fashion! I did get into CSCO and EMC in 1994. Later (1996) I invested in ORCL. I couldn't "bear" to invest in MSFT again because everytime the MS OS freezes up I cuss $illy boy personally (How's that for investment objectivity and deep analysis?!!). I liked what Ellison was saying about net computing at the time. I thought one of those "net" boyz (Ellison, McGrady(sp?)) would come to our rescue over the sh*tty MS OS. I think the net OS architecture will still come to the rescue eventually. Trouble is, it may end up being $illy boy himself that becomes dominant in the net OS architecture! I still have my 1996 purchase of ORCL. I am getting really itchy to buy more! But, I think I will let that ride long term and purchase some SUNW instead.
P.S. sorry about the long OT ramblings. I usually just lurk a lot about these threads. I think this is just a diversion from this latest tech wreck! .......back to lurking.......
