ETEK - I've been looking at the fiber industry and looking for longs in this area. ETEK has had a pretty steady climb since it came public in late 1998. P.S. 61M shares, but only 5M in float! Here's the summary from QuotesPlus: E-Tek Dynamics, Inc. designs, packages, manufactures and sells high quality passive components for fiber optic networks. For the six months ended 1/1/99, revenues rose 36% to $71.7M. Net income applicable to Common rose 48% to $8.2M. Revenues reflect an increase in unit shipments, and substantial growth for submarine applications. Earnings also reflect an increase in gross profit, and a decrease in SGA expenses as a percentage of revenues. Jimmy, here's an important note about ETEK - From S8 filed 3/31: The stockholders of E-TEK Dynamics, Inc. listed below may offer and resell up to 5,816,666 shares of E-TEK Dynamics common stock under this prospectus, for their own accounts. E-TEK Dynamics will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the shares. With only 5M in float to start with, this is very dilutive.
